I really want this to be true. So,I'll believe it. I don't think mid-week days will work. I'm still in and I don't see the level of commitment and sacrifice that existed prior. People just wont go.

No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?
by respectful_observer inapologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

Greetings from Candace Conti
by AndersonsInfo incandace asked me to tell you thank you for all your kind expressions of support.
this really means a lot to her.
she wants you to know that she is coping well with all the stress and excitement, even though she's had years of anger and frustration because of being abused for so long, first by the molester, and then by the wt.

It scares me a little, I think I would have still been a true-blue believer - without the internet.
I stumbled across this site while google-ing "one meeting night a week." I was so excited about this change, since the schedule was burning me out. I figured somebody somewhere was discussing it.
Echo Yknot: Thank you Simon and all the posters who have enlightened me!

Great thread and research NewLight2! I looked up the organ transplant references, using the 2003 CD index: 11/15/1967 p702: Those who submit to such operations are thus living off the flesh of another human. That is cannibalistic. 3/15/1980 p31: Some Christians might feel that taking into their bodies any tissue or body part from another human is cannibalistic. Wow, I wonder why "some" christians might feel that way....? One eye-opener (thanks to this site) is the Society's method of introducing "new light" and then dismissing old "light" as opinions of members.

I sent a link to the "Toy Story" to a female friend (never been a JW).
Her comment as an outsider:
"That poor "kid" --> he'll turn into a 20 year old with a collection of action figures....and any girls that come over will think he is creepy."

Growing up a Jehovah's Witness - New Video
by jwfacts ini have put together a video - growing up a jehovah's witness 1960 -2010. it aims to show the things a witnesses would be taught as they age over those decades.
it is 15 minutes long.
this is my first attempt at a video and it took a while to work out how to use final cut, so please feel free to make suggestions if anything should be changed.

Great video JWfacts.
One correction I think needs to be made (I had mentioned this already - but I don't think I did a good job explaining myself.):
At 3:50 this quote is shown:"They expect it [The end] to come any hour..." and is attributed to the Aug 1, 1968 Watchtower. It actually is from a newspaper article describing the attitudes of witnesses - which the Watchtower quotes.
I dunno - maybe it's not a big deal. I just picture a witness seeing this sort of thing for the first time. I want him/her to see an airtight presentation of these facts. Since,, they'll probably go back and look up these quotes on the CD.

Victoria, Australia: A MUST READ-Transcript of audio recording of WT letter read to all Victoria congs Oct/Nov. 2011 re: Working With Children Act
by AndersonsInfo insee www.jwnews.net, steven unthank's private blog site where he posted the following material.
i enlarged and put in bold the third paragraph of the wt's letter where the elder, an ex-bethelite, made some fascinating errors while reading the letter by using the words, "borg" and "perp.
" does this mean what i think it means?

Try my post again: the Watchtower calls District Convention attendees: "Delegates".
A delegate is a representative. (And he/she wears a convention badge...)
